Chrome Extension Privacy Policy

This policy describes how the Girl Generator Chrome extension (the "Extension") handles your information. It applies only to the Extension and is separate from the privacy policy of the girlgenerator.app website.

1. What the Extension does

The Extension lets you generate AI character art from a side panel in your browser. You can type a text prompt, or right-click an image on any webpage and generate a similar character. Generation is performed by the girlgenerator.app API using your account's credits.

2. Data we collect

  • Prompt text you type into the Extension. Sent to the girlgenerator.app API to generate images.
  • Image URLs you pick via the right-click context menu. Sent to the girlgenerator.app API as the source for image-to-image generation.
  • API key issued to your girlgenerator.app account when you click "Authorize Extension". Stored locally via chrome.storage.local. Used only to authenticate requests to the girlgenerator.app API.
  • Generation history (up to 20 most recent entries: prompt text, result image URL, timestamp). Stored locally via chrome.storage.local on your device only.

3. Data we do NOT collect

  • Browsing history or the contents of pages you visit
  • Cookies from any website
  • Personally identifiable information beyond what is in your girlgenerator.app account
  • Analytics, tracking, or advertising identifiers
  • Location data

4. How data is used

Prompts, image URLs, and your API key are transmitted only to https://girlgenerator.app for the sole purpose of generating images on your behalf. No data is sent to any other third-party service.

5. Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties. The girlgenerator.app backend processes prompts through an AI image generation model; see the main site privacy policy for details on backend processing.

6. Data retention

  • Local data (API key, history) remains on your device until you click "Disconnect" or uninstall the Extension.
  • API key server record: you can revoke it anytime from Settings → API Keys.

7. Permissions explained

  • sidePanel — to display the Extension UI in the browser side panel.
  • storage — to save your API key and local history.
  • contextMenus — to add the "Generate similar with Girl Generator" item to the right-click menu on images.
  • host_permissions: https://girlgenerator.app/* — to call the girlgenerator.app API. The Extension does not access any other hosts.

8. Children

The Extension is not directed at children under 13. Do not use the Extension if you are under the age required by your local law to consent to the processing of your data.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by a new "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
